... working my arse off, hence the prolonged silence on this blog. ;-)
And to be honest, it makes me tired just to contemplate the to-do list from those weeks, so I won't go into any detail.
Right now I'm in Cornwall, chilling with Andy and his parents over Xmas. We arrived last Friday, driving through the stunning fog that had descended over much of the UK in the preceding days. Quite hairy, particularly when it was my turn to drive - I have the night vision of an albino bunny, and it was all rather tense. Thankfully, Andy was not immune to the massive waves of stress I was throwing off, so he ended up doing the bulk of the driving.
I've been eating since I arrived, just shameful amounts of food and chocolate. I suppose that's what this time of year is all about (yes, yes, and the religious festivals as well, if you're that way inclined), but I can't wait to get back to Swansea where, touch wood, I'll resume some sort of exercise regimen. I always start out with a fervour and the best of intentions, and then when the momentum tapers off, I'm left feeling like a failure, and quite disappointed in myself. :-/ I wonder what the best way to keep motivated is ... hints, tips, techniques all gratefully received.
After 2 false starts, hundreds of pounds in application fees and lots and lots of stress, Her Majesty's Government has finally granted me indefinite leave to remain on this strange island - thanks to Andy's Amazing Organizational Admin-Fu. Yay Andy! :-)
